President Joe Schaeffer announced the decision to cancel the February 11th meeting and program of the First Defenders Civil War Round Table. As shown in this AccuWeather forecast, our area is predicted to experience snow beginning tomorrow afternoon:
Some First Defenders must travel rather long distances, and others are hesitant to venture out in such conditions. The decision to cancel the event has been made out of an abundance of caution, and we trust everyone will understand and agree.
Wally Heimbach’s presentation on Colonel Edward Cross, already postponed once, will be rescheduled as soon as practical. Hopefully, though, the groundhog was wrong and we will be able to get together again next month to hear Chris Heisey’s photo journey “Seeing the Light: Momentous Places of the Civil War.”
