The 22nd Campaign of the First Defenders Civil War Round Table is set to begin with its first program on Tuesday September 11th. Check out “Events” for program details featuring one of our most popular speakers, Chris Mackowski.
The First Defenders will be returning to the Inn at Reading again this year, and the Inn has agreed to hold dinner prices at $25 for members ($35 for non-members, but the extra $10 can be credited toward membership for those who choose to enlist).
Program Chair Dave Unger has filled out the 22nd Campaign events, and details will be posted soon. A summary can be found in the September newsletter found on the “Newsletters” page.
The summer slipped away too quickly, and our usual interim newsletter did not get distributed by President Breneiser in a timely manner (lifelong battles with procrastination do not improve with age!). However, you will also find it posted on the Newsletters page.
The enlistment form for the coming campaign can also be downloaded and printed. Former President Joe Schaeffer will be pinch-hitting for Membership Chair Dave Sweigert during the rush. His contact information is included on the form. New this year is an option to receive emails that come to the First Defenders from time-to-time and in which you might have an interest; there is no need to sign up (no one needs more in their inbox!), but some of the information, tours, programs, etc. may be of interest.
2018-19 promises to be a great year for the First Defenders. We look forward to seeing everyone on September 11th!
